Around 198 paddlers from across the country are expected to converge at the at the SM City Bacolod main atrium to compete for the 3-day Governor’s Cup Invitational Table Tennis Championship scheduled December 27 to 29, 2017.
This was disclosed by Marell Lagunday of Lopue’s Table Tennis Association (LOPTTA), the long-time partner of this event.
Lagunday said that among the events to be competed include the boys’ and girls’ 18-and-below, Men and Women’s Open, Men’s Executive, Women’s Executive (A and B categories), and the Veterans for 60 years old and above.
This is an annual year-end sporting activity of Gov. Marañon in cooperation with LOPTTA headed by its president Leonito “Diotay” Lopue.
As an established club, LOPTTA has able to produced outstanding table tennis players who have been reaping awards, not only in the national and local level, but abroad.
Moreover, LOPTTA has actively supported many talents in the grassroots that prevailed in several Palarong Pambansa stints.*
