MORE than 140 photos from sports photographers and bloggers in Negros Occidental and Iloilo participated in the Department of Tourism-Region 6 photo exhibit on the “Images of Western Visayas as Sports Tourism Destination” last November 25-27 and “Landmarks and Culinary Tourism in Western Visayas” from November 28-30, 2017at the SM City Bacolod Northwing.

“This is the first photo exhibit in Western Visayas supported by DOT-6 featuring the region’s sports events and facilities as well as its capability to host sports activities that will bring in local and foreign tourists,” said DOT VI Regional Director Atty. Helen Catalbas.
“We thank the sports tourism photographers in the region for initiating this project and I have asked Toots (Jimenez) to bring this exhibit around the region,” Catalbas added.
Among the sports photographers who joined the event are Archie Alipalo, Andy Alvarez, Elyrose Naorbe, Henry Doble, James Toga, John Javier, Owen Bayog, Liza Yorac-Bayog, Kieron Tan, Mymy Alagaban and Stephen Tan.
Meanwhile, presenting the exhibit for the landmarks and culinary tourism include Ed Joven, Dhadha Garcia, Jojo Vito, Betzy Gazo, Mea Pabiona, Maria Sigrid Lo, Kathy Villalon, Zedrick Zeneres, Jennylind Cordero, Ronnie Baldonado and Flozard Gedalanga.

In Bacolod City, there are only two accredited Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions/Events (MICE) organizers approved by the DOT 6. They are JB Ongsingco of SMX Convention Center Bacolod and Micro Soph Management’s Toots Jimenez Jr. – who led this exhibit.*
