FOLLOWING a tough victory over the weekend against Kaya FC-Makati, the home team of Ceres Negros FC is looking forward to keep their winning momentum and avenge their away game against visiting JPV Marikina FC tonight at the Panaad Park and Stadium in the ongoing 2017 Philippines Football League.
This is Ceres FC’s second straight home game this month, and the first of two face-offs against JPV – which they will also meet on October 28.
During their first meeting at JPV’s turf, the Busmen lost, 2-1 on the goals from Takumi Uesato and J Baguioro while Bienvenido Marañon delivered the lone goal for Ceres FC.
While the Busmen enjoys being at No.3 of the table having 12 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats in 17 appearances, JPV is at No.6 with 8-3-10 in 21 outings.
Coming off a roughly played 3-2 win over Kaya FC over the weekend, Ceres FC is well-determined to take another 3 points at home and possibly take over the second spot in the standing from the LBC-backed team.
Meanwhile, the Marikina-based club will try to snatch a win after a 2-1 setback against Global Cebu FC on Sunday.
Among those expected to suit-up for JVP tonight are former Ceres FC midfielders J Baguioro, William Espinosa and Jaime Poderoso Jr. as well as defenders Camelo Tacusalme and Lemuel Unabia. Also in JPV line-up is former STI-West Negros University Mustang midfielder Robert Cañedo.
Suspended for Ceres FC are Jeffrey Christiaens and Stephan Shock as well as Coach Risto Vidakovic while for JPV are Masaki Yanagawa and Sean Patrick Kane.
Off north, the Ilocos United FC will try to avenge their recent 2-nil loss to Davao Aguilas FC at 4PM at the Elpidio Quirino Stadium.
This will be the final face-off for both teams who settled in a 1-all draw during their first meeting in Ilocos last May 7 followed with a scoreless draw in Tagum City last June.*
