Ceres FC playing back-to-back PFL home games on Sept. 24 & 30

PANAAD will again witness history as Ceres-Negros FC hosting a pair of Philippines Football League matches in Bacolod on September 24 and 30.The Busmen return to the PFL after a historic campaign in this years edition of the AFC Cup.

These will be Busmen’s set of home games in the PFL after a historic campaign in the recently-staged AFC Cup.

After a long break in the domestic league, the Busmen will attempt to earn the maximum points when they face Global Cebu FC on September 24 then Ilocos United on September 30.

The yellow and black are currently at the fourth place in the league’s standings with 28 points after thirteen games while FC Meralco Manila remained on top with 41 points but have played six more games than the Bacolod squad.

The Philippines Football League is in its inaugural season as the first national football league in the country. Eight teams will battle it out and will play 28 games each before the final series which is scheduled in December this year. The final series will pit the top four teams in the league in a home-and-away semifinal before going into the grand final. The highest seeded finalist will earn the right to host the all-important grand final match.

“The (PFL) league is a very important competition for us. It allows us to represent the club internationally next year,” said Ceres Captain Martin Steuble. The winner of the league will qualify not only for the AFC Cup but also to the more prestigious AFC Champions League.
