St. Teresita’s Academy karatekas win medals in Batang Pinoy

GREAT future ahead of the two promising karatekas from St. Teresita’s Academy (STA) of Silay City after cousins Jelane Kate Diane dela Cruz-Andrada and Gian Caesar dela-Cruz Cosio won silver and bronze medals, respectively, during the staging of the 2016 Batang Pinoy National Finals in Tagum City, Davao Del Norte.

Aranda won the silver in the Novice Kata – 8-9 years old while Cosio in the Novice Kata – 16-17 years old.

Prior his Batang Pinoy success, Aranda also finished bronze in the Kata – 7-8 years old category during the 5th Philippine Karatedo Federation National Sports Association, Inc. (PKF-NSA) National Open Junior Cadet and Senior Karatedo Championship held in September in Quezon City.

He also finished silver and bronze for the Kumite and Kata – 8-9 years old, respectively, for the First NIR Open Karatedo Invitational held Dumaguete City.

Meanwhile, before Batang Pinoy, Cosio also finished bronze in the PKF-NSA.*
